Youth has the passion and the energy for public engagement, but lack the mindset, skill, understanding, and professional support to execute their ideas. The Youth Science Ambassadors project aims to equip the ambassadors with what they lack.
The direct audiences are the 7 ambassadors of this term. The ambassadors are reached through online recruitment, based on the partnership with universities. The indirect audiences are the participants of the projects implemented by the ambassadors. These audiences are the communities close to the ambassadors, so they can be reached through both online and offline communication.
How YSAs get involved in OUCRU's research
- After being recruited, Youth Science Ambassadors will have a series of necessary trainings including public and community engagement in science, project planning and execution, and communications, to name of a few.
- Training programme will be different each year based on what Youth Science Ambassadors would like to contribute.
After completing all necessary trainings, Youth Science Ambassadors will:
- Suggest and propose their project details with OUCRU’s School and Youth Coordinator.
- Discuss with OUCRU’s scientists and Public and Community Engagement group for feedback.
- Finalise their project plan.
