Mr Ruan Spies is a medical doctor and PhD student at OUCRU HCMC, researching the genomic epidemiology of tuberculosis (TB) and drug-resistant TB. His current work, supervised by Professor Timothy Walker, utilises Mycobacterium tuberculosis whole genome sequencing data to address critical public health questions in Ho Chi Minh City, particularly focusing on the emergence and transmission of drug-resistant TB.
