Nguyen Trung Thanh

Dr Nguyễn Trung Thành

Senior Research Assistant

Nguyen Trung Thanh, PhD’s research interests are understanding the mechanism of pathogenic bacteria-mediated disease transmission from animal to human and the genetic circulation of virulence and antibiotic resistance of Gram-positive bacteria in the community, e.g., MRSA, Streptococcus pneumonia, and Streptococcus suis.

His current major projects include: “The role of biofilm genes in virulence and antimicrobial resistance of Streptococcus suis serotype 2”, “Streptococcus pneumoniae carriage in healthy and community-acquired pneumonia children in the community: the prevalence and antimicrobial susceptibility profiles in Vietnam (CHANCES)” and “An integrated management-based approach for surveillance and control of zoonosis in emerging livestock systems”.
