Dr Chau Huy Thong rejoined OUCRU in June 2022 as Lab Manager after completing his PhD in Optical Sciences at Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. Before that, he had been part of OUCRU for nearly six years, serving as Assistant Laboratory Manager from 2013 to 2019.
In his current role, he ensures the smooth operation of laboratories compliant with biosafety and quality standards at both containment level 2 and 3. He also manages the asset and inventory system to support laboratory efficiency and sustainability.
Thong values a positive and collaborative working environment and sees this as one of his proudest achievements at OUCRU. Looking ahead, he aims to strengthen collaboration across all OUCRU sites, including Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Indonesia, and Nepal.
