In this study, we performed genomic and phylogenetic analyses of MDR enterica serotype 4,[5],12:i:- isolates causing blood and/or mucoid diarrheal in Vietnam in the context of regionally and globally circulating ST34 organisms.

We characterise strain importation events and track the local expansion of this MDR clone in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. We also utilised Nanopore sequencing and molecular experiments to look into the genetic structure and horizontal transfer of the MDR plasmids.
