Dr Julie Huynh is a Clinical Research Paediatrician at OUCRU HCMC, specialising in childhood infections with a particular interest in tuberculosis (TB). She leads the SURE trial, a TB treatment study for children with TB meningitis, as well as the INTERCEPT study, which uses integrative omics and aspirin response to define therapeutic targets for paediatric TB meningitis.
Her PhD research, titled ‘Improving the diagnosis and prognosis of TB meningitis in children’, focused on identifying specific host immune signatures as biomarkers of disease and exploring the use of automated pupillometry to predict raised intracranial pressure in children with TB meningitis. Dr Huynh’s research is integral to advancing both the clinical management and understanding of TB meningitis in children.
