He started her career as a field supervisor for a Cholera vaccine study in 1993. He then continued working as Lab Technician for Laboratory Information and Tracking System (LITS) at the US-military international biomedical research laboratory in Jakarta.
He was awarded a Special Award by US Embassy in Jakarta for his significant contribution to organizing 4,500 archived dengue specimens into computerized specimen management. At OUCRU Indonesia, he was also in charge of handling and managing thousands of blood specimens collected from surveys and clinical trials.
