We are excited to announce the release of the book “One Health,” a collaborative effort between OUCRU’s Public and Community Engagement Group, Bayer Vietnam, and Khan Quang Do.
This book will be introduced at Book Street (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) at 9AM, November 5th, 2023, and will soon be distributed through selected educational channels and platforms.
“One Health” book is part of the Science Switch project, which aims to nurture scientific interest and love in secondary school students. The book was edited and illustrated by a team of young collaborators, and features scientific writing from over 20 scientists from various research fields.
The book’s content offers young readers scientific explanations and cute, engaging illustrations on various topics including the human body, everyday objects, the world of plants and animals, discoveries and innovations in medicine, and One Health. The book will provide a gateway to new knowledge and perspectives on life. It will also provide inspiration to take action now and in the future to protect the health of the environment and animals, which ultimately safeguards their own health, and the health of their families and society.
At the event, distinguished experts from OUCRU will share their valuable insights related to One Health(*), especially via ongoing research, to emphasise its crucial role in addressing global health challenges. They will be joined by Bayer and Khan Quang Do, our long-term partners, who have provided invaluable support in promoting the event and attracting a diverse audience.
The Book Street, where the event will take place, is an ideal location for connecting with readers and enthusiasts. It will give attendees the chance to explore the importance of the One Health approach through interactive discussions, informative presentations, and book signings.

(*) The book explores the theme of One Health, discussing the importance of harmonious and sustainable coordination and development among humans, animals, and the environment, with the goal of achieving comprehensive health for the Earth. In simpler terms, when human activities directly or indirectly impact the environment or animals, human health is also at risk, and vice versa. “One Health” calls for participation and collaboration from experts in fields such as human health, veterinary medicine, geology, and the environment, to work together for the overall health of the Earth.
