 Thao is supporting ongoing projects, including but not limited to: “Streptococcus pneumoniae carriage in healthy and community-acquired pneumonia children in the community: the prevalence and antimicrobial susceptibility profiles in Vietnam (CHANCES)” and “An integrated management-based approach for surveillance and control of zoonosis in emerging livestock systems”.

Timeline

2021

Officially joined OUCRU as a lab technician and did research in parallel to pursue her Master’s degree at the University of Science, National University, Ho Chi Minh City.

For her master’s thesis, Thao’s researches currently focus on the project “The role of biofilm genes in virulence and antimicrobial resistance of Streptococcus suis serotype 2”.

2021

Bachelor’s degree in microbiology at the University of Science, National University, Ho Chi Minh City.

Her graduation thesis entitled “Biofilm formation of Streptococcus suis serotype 2 in Vietnam: the relationship between genotype and productivity” was honoured with an excellent award by the president of the university.

2020

Joined the Zoonoses group at OUCRU for her BSc. project.
